Where We Come From

Long before there was a Pine Valley, there was rich bottom land by a river in North Georgia.

My grandfather worked that land as a sharecropper — a tenant farmer growing cotton, training teams of mules for a landlord's profit while scratching out a living for his own family. My father grew up on those Depression-era farms, shifting with the seasons, moving with the work, learning what it meant to make something from very little and take care of what you had.

The land didn't belong to them. But the lessons did.

Coming Back

Years passed. The family moved on and spread out, as families do. But something pulled us back.

We returned to those same fields — not to work them this time, but to gather. Year after year, we would come together - old & young - in that same place to swap stories, share food and laugh together. And as we would sit there talking, singing or watching kids play, the pine trees had quietly grown up around us, tall and full, casting shade over the fields that once stretched open and bare under the hot Georgia sun.

That place became Pine Valley. Not a name we invented — a name the land earned.
